With the opening of their new downtown state of the art arena, the Golden1 Center, the Sacramento Kings ownership is aiming to transcend Kings basketball into a new experience for their fanbase.  The Kings and Golden1 Center have launched an awesome new app, designed to take fan experience to the next level.  The app offers fans information, customer service, apparel deals, and much more.  They also have a designated “fan zone” where fans can interact and compete with other fans to win discounts, ticket upgrades, points, or other real Kings related prizes.  All of this is capable while sitting in the stands or watching the game at home.

The app also has other social components, where fans are able to engage in discussion, follow players social accounts, and get expert analysis on Kings basketball.  Perhaps the most nifty feature on the app is the virtual cowbell which will ring loudly when the phone is shaken in the air.  Fans at games are encouraged to download the app and wave their phones in the air to become a part of the frenzy. Kings owner Vivek Ranadive offered his approval of the teams new technology:  “This new app will be the fans’ remote control for the world’s most advanced arena, allowing them to customize and take control of their experience, and engage with the team like never before.” Check out this video to get an in depth breakdown of the app.
